New community garden thanks to Girvan "shedders"

The members of Girvan Men's Shed, more commonly known as the "shedders", have been working in partnership with the Girvan Football Club on the development of new gardens within Hamilton Park.

Application deadline extended

As previously announced, Carrick Futures are currently seeking new voluntary Directors for the areas of Pinwherry and Pinmore and Ballantrae.

Bowling Club reports on Covid-19 grant award

Ballantrae Bowling Club received a Carrick Futures COVID-19 emergency grant of £2,650 in June 2020.

Due to the pandemic, the Club was unable to open for the 2020 summer bowling season, with no date available at the time as to when the bowling could re-commence.  Closure of the Club had resulted in a significant reduction of income that would usually be generated. The grant award was to support…

RNLI Covid-19 Grant Award Update

RNLI were awarded a grant of £2,000 from the Carrick Futures Covid-19 Emergency Fund in July 2020.

The grant was to purchase PPE for the volunteer crew of Girvan Lifeboat station. 

The PPE purchased with the grant enabled the volunteer lifeboat crew (as well as land based volunteers and individuals involved in a rescue) to maintain this vital emergency service.  Rescue workers require…

Covid-19 Funds available

The Carrick Futures Covid-19 Emergency Fund was set up in April 2020 to support activites by local community organisations providing help to vulnerable people in difficulty because of the pandemic and to support community organisations suffering major adverse impacts and losses as a result of the pandemic.
