Following the Carrick Futures Fund Review, the Trustees have updated the guidance for Community Councils on running a local micro grants scheme with funds from Carrick Futures.
Carrick Futures has recently undertaken a fund review and as a result of this process, has updated its guidance for Community Councils on how to run a local micro grants scheme with a grant from Carricl Futures.
Key changes are:
- Dailly Community Council is now eligible to participate
- Groups may apply to Community Councils for up to £1,000
- Individuals may apply, if the activity they are undertaking provides community benefit
- An additional £1,000 can be made available Community Councils for the purpose of encouraging and supporting early years activity with a micro grant. These extra funds can only be used for this purpose.
- Guidance to Community Councils with more than one donor providing micro grants funds is as follows: Community Councils may combine the Carrick Futures grant with other donations from other sources from the same purpose of running a microgrants scheme. If this situation applies, the Community Council should bear in mind that other donors may have differing guidance on maximum sums to be awarded and that if these are lower than the Carrick Futures’ maximum award to groups of £1,000, these should be adhered to unless the Community Council has agreed a change to upper threshold with the other donors.
