Eight charities and community groups receive a welcome funding boost, totalling approximately £70,000.
The Directors of Carrick Futures were pleased to award eight grants at the October Board meeting. Grants totalled just under £70,000 benefitting communities across South Carrick.
Scottish Huntington's Association - £8,955
To contribute towards the costs of The South Ayrshire HD Specialist to continue to support families in the fund area of benefit.
Starcatchers - £3,200
Towards delivery of outdoor creative play sessions for children and their families in Girvan and Maybole, including equipment, staffing and training.
Girvan Brownies - £4,600
To contribute to the costs of a residential trip to Dolphin House, to enable the Brownies to experience a range of outdoor activities for a period of three years
Ayrshire Cancer Support – £25,000
To contribute to the renovation costs of the Ayrshire Cancer Support facility in Ayr, which will house a full complimentary of support services.
OiR (Opportunities in Retirement) Girvan - £500
To fund a trip to the Gaiety Theatre, Ayr which will help reduce social isolation for the OIR (Girvan) members.
CRAG Community Arts SCIO - £10,000
To support the cost of the Strandline 2022 festival into a self-led walking trail and engage the local community in creativity activity.
Girvan Academy Parent Council - £5,730
To fund access to extra-curricular activities for pupils at Girvan Academy so that transport and cost are not barriers to participation.
Sacred Heart Primary School Parent Council – £11,040
To commission Adventure Centre for Education (ACE) outdoor education programme, which will take place for a period of three years. and enhance the pupil's learning opportunities.
