Girvan Early Years

Having fun in Girvan!

Girvan Early Years Centre Parent Council was established in 2017 to bring together the parents and carers of the children attending the nursery/Early Years Centre at Girvan Primary School.

In 2019, the Parent Council were awarded a two year grant for a total of £9,625 to run a two year outdoor education programme with the Adventure Centre for Education, giving children the opportunity to benefit from outdoor activities.

Due to the pandemic the activities were delayed, however the Parent Council has recently reported that the first year of the programme of activities has now been completed and were a great success, with over 100 children benefitting from the grant.  Activities included learning how to ride a balance bike and a two wheeled bike which supported children who previously had not had the opportunity to participate in any form of bike riding.  A visit to the beach was a great success (apart from the weather), with children being given the opportunity to explore, discover and importantly have fun.

Such days as these are great for team building, outdoor learning and to help improve the confidence of children, whilst being in their local natural outdoor environment.
