Carrick Futures Endowment Fund

How is the Carrick Futures Endowment Fund managed?

At the recent Carrick Futures Annual General Meeting, a member asked the question "How is the Carrick Futures Endowment Fund managed?" A great question, which can hopefully be answered as follows;

The Fund is invested in the Foundation Scotland Impact Fund Portfolio, which is managed by EQ Investors, an organisation which has an extensive experience of managing funds for the charity sector. In November 2020, Foundation Scotland decided to invest as high a proportion of the assets they manage as is practical, in a socially responsible way, with a reasonable expectation that such a policy would not detract from long-term investment return and could indeed produce greater value.

Impact investors seek companies that deliver a positive societal impact, through their goods and services, and through all their business practices, such as supply chains, low carbon policies and approach to staff welfare.  The Foundation Scotland Impact Fund portfolio is very diversified in terms of limited exposure to any one invesment.  As with all Endowment Funds, it is important that Endowment Fund holders take a long term view on performance, as well as the environmental, societal and governance considerations.
