Making A Difference

Since 2009, Carrick Futures has made over 120 grants across Carrick.

Carrick Futures has supported a wide range of community groups and projects including; a community magazine to keep people up to date with the latest news and events in Carrick; music festivals to nurture the skills and talents of local young people; environmental projects to raise awareness and help preserve valuable natural heritage.

The Fund has also supported community transport and tourism projects and helped pay for equipment and essential maintenance and repairs for local sports clubs. Carrick Futures funding has enabled primary school children to explore the outdoors and has supported a local organisation working hard to offer local home care services in the community.

Grants have helped train instructors, purchase new equipment and run free activity outdoor sessions for young people. It  has also funded a growing demand for dance opportunities and general fitness and well-being classes for older people throughout Carrick and provided a grant towards the cost of a 'home' for the Ballantrae Festival of Food and Drink.
